| Changes to the Hamilton TimeraiserAs many of you have been reading in the news of late, there is a lot of volatility in the economy. This is causing some of our business partners to defer their community investment decisions about the Timeraiser sponsorship this fall. In the case of the Hamilton Timeraiser, we have a number of solid relationships and strong proposals that were submitted several months ago. However, with three weeks before the 3rd Hamilton Timeraiser, some of these proposals are taking longer than normal. While we have raised 60% of funds needed, we still have a gap.
As a small charity with no room for running operating deficits, we need to be financially prudent yet deliver on supporting artists and raising volunteer hours. Therefore, after a lot of discussion within the Framework team, we’ve decided to reschedule the Hamilton Timeraiser to February 2012. Framework has already purchased artwork ($11,000) from local Hamilton artists using our confirmed local and national sponsors, which we are delighted about. We also have 14 enthusiastic non-profit organizations who have valuable volunteer opportunities lined up to share with participants in Hamilton. We will take these next few months to regroup with our dedicated leadership committee to ensure the Hamilton Timeraiser is a raging success. We are very appreciative of your continued support of the Timeraiser program - we look forward to really knocking this one out of the park in February when we return to Hamilton. In the meantime, please check out the volunteer opportunities that have been linked on the Timeraiser website - there are some great ways to get involved in Hamilton. We’ll see you in February!
