KPMG in the Community: A Passion for Sustainability

Jenn Dumaran

In preparation for Earth Day (April 22nd) and National Volunteer Week (April 23-29), we want to recognize an individual who donates their time to environmental stewardship and conservation.  We asked our friends at KPMG for a team member who embodies a commitment to nature, and they told us about Tom Darling.

Passionate about sustainability, Tom has volunteered with Sustainable Hamilton since 2012. In 2016, Tom helped Sustainable Hamilton develop a Carbon reporting framework that will enable small organizations to measure and reduce carbon emissions. He has inspired other volunteers to get involved with the social enterprise and helps train them in sustainability reporting. As leader of the Sustainable Action Initiative, Tom helped develop the framework and tools to empower local organizations to report on carbon emissions and other quantifiable sustainability metrics.

Thanks Tom & KPMG for all you do in the community and for the environment!

If your passion and interest is in environmental causes join the volunteer movement and pledge hours at Timeraiser150 or Online150 (coming summer 2017).  Through Timeraiser your goodwill gets you great art.  Donate your skills and time to the causes you care about and get an original work of Canadian art in exchange.
